"And" - "But" - "Or" - Conjunctions

-A conjunction is a word that connects other words or sentences. The most common ones are
- "and"
- "or"
- "but"

      UsageExamples
      and
      We use "and" to connect positive sentences 

      "and" connects two words [Emre and Hülya]
      "and" connects two verbs [read and write]
      (+)He can drive a car. (+)He can ride a horse.
           He can drive a car and ride a horse.

      Emre and Hülya are students.
      I can read and write.
      Aykut plays football and basketball
      but
      We use "but" to connect two sentences that are
      opposite in meaning.

      "but" connects two words [small and strong]
      "but" connects two opposite sentences.
      (+)He can drive a car. (-)He can't ride a horse.
           He can drive a car,but he can't ride a horse.

      He is small but strong.
      The movie is late but we can go.
      Aykut likes playing tennis but he isn't very good at it.
      I like you but I don't like your sister.
      or
      We use "or" to connect two negative sentences.

      "or" connects two words and it means there are
      two possibilities
      (-)He can't drive a car. (-)He can't ride a horse.
      He can't drive a car or ride a horse.

      Should I drive or ride?
      Would you like coffee or tea?
      Gary wants to be a doctor or a teacher.
